Welcome to Mrs. Dahlmann's home page. This is my sixthyear teaching in the Shikellamy School District, and my fifth year at the High School. Teaching is my second career. I previously worked in health care in medical laboratories and as an Infection Control Practitioner. I enjoy teaching Biology because I like to know how living things function and interact.
This year in Biology we will be studying:
-
Scientific Method (2 weeks)
-
Chemistry for Life (2 weeks)
-
Classification of living things (1 weeks)
-
Ecology (3 weeks)
-
Cells: structures & functions (5 weeks)
-
Cell Reproduction (4-5 weeks)
-
Energy for Life (Photosynthesis and Respiration) (2-3 weeks)
-
Heredity (Genetics) (5 weeks)
-
Nucleic Acids (DNA & RNA) (2 - 3 weeks)
-
Evolution (included with other topics where appropriate)
-
Plants (one week mini unit if time permits)
-

I give a variety of class assignments. Graded work must be turned in within one week of the due date. You will have a comprehensive final exam that includes all material for the year. Your written portfolio will count as 1/2 your final exam grade.
