Summer STEAM Staff

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Summer STEAM Program is in need of staff to serve their 2020 Summer Program.

Please review the following details regarding the positions:

Due to the uncertainty surrounding our current academic schedule, the 21st CCLC is offering a summer program to students in the Shikellamy School District. This program will be held in whatever capacity is allowed by PDE and Pennsylvania State law. If staff and students are able to meet face to face, programs will take place in schools across the district. If students and staff are not allowed to meet face to face, staff will take turns hosting virtual learning sessions to students during program time.

Program staff responsibilities (face to face model): Lead students in group activities; offer a fun and relaxed learning environment, focus learning on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) curriculum, offer physical education and social emotional activities, report any student concerns to the site coordinator.

Site Coordinator responsibilities (face to face model): Help develop and supervise staff led activity groups, monitor and track daily student attendance and discipline, contact parents to report any concerns, communicate any program related issues to the program director.

Program staff responsibilities (virtual model): Lead students for 45 minutes in online learning sessions through google meet. Plan, develop, and instruct daily activities with a focus on STEAM curriculum, physical education and social emotional growth.

Summer program will operate Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am-1:00 pm. Program will begin June 15, 2020 and conclude July 23, 2020. Candidates must list their availability in their letter of interest. Please include an area or interest or specialty for group activities.
