The STEAM after school and summer program is currently designated for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at the Shikellamy Middle School and is provided at NO COST to parents through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant. The program provides each student with academic assistance and enrichment along with a daily meal provided by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Shikellamy School District also provides transportation 
to and from the program each day

The program staff is comprised of district teachers and teaching aides who will help your child with homework and learning, while also facilitating group activities and enrichment in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and math. The after school and summer program uses Explore Learning's Gizmos Interactive Lessons for enrichment based activities. Other activities throughout the year involve Box of Light Film & Studios, physics and robotics through Customized Tutoring Services, interactive lessons on nutrition and health provided by Evangelical Community Hospital, YMCA Arts Center learning and activities,collaborations with the community libraries, Clyde Peeling Reptileland and more! 

The program operates from Monday through Thursday for three hours during the school year and five hours over the summer. A half hour at the end of each day will be devoted to parents who want to visit and talk with program staff about their child. We request that all parent meetings be scheduled 24 hours in advance, but are always willing to help should you need to meet immediately.

    Priestley and Oaklyn Elementary: 3pm - 6pm

    Chief and Beck Elementary: 2:30pm-5:30pm
