At Shikellamy, we believe athletics are an extension of the classroom. Our athletic programs provide students with opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and respect.

Student-athletes, coaches, families, and fans all play an important role in creating a positive environment where everyone can enjoy competition. We expect all members of the Shikellamy community to demonstrate good sportsmanship and represent our school with pride.

Expectations for Student-Athletes and Coaches

Shikellamy student-athletes and coaches are expected to:

  • Demonstrate respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators.
  • Display integrity, responsibility, and self-control at all times.
  • Compete with enthusiasm while maintaining respect for the game and those involved.
  • Follow team, school, and PIAA expectations regarding sportsmanship and conduct.
  • Represent Shikellamy High School and our community in a positive manner.

Expectations for Parents and Fans

We appreciate the tremendous support provided by our families and community members. Fans are encouraged to:

  • Cheer positively for our student-athletes and teams.
  • Encourage effort, teamwork, and improvement.
  • Respect coaches, officials, opponents, and other spectators.
  • Allow coaches and officials to perform their roles without interference.
  • Model appropriate behavior for the students we serve.
  • Support all student-athletes and celebrate the educational value of athletics.

Unsportsmanlike Behavior Will Not Be Tolerated

The Shikellamy School District is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all participants and spectators. Negative, inappropriate, or disrespectful behavior directed toward players, coaches, officials, opponents, or school personnel may result in removal from athletic events and/or additional consequences.
