Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law
The Shikellamy School District is committed to transparency and accountability. In accordance with the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (RTKL), members of the public may request access to public records maintained by the District.
The Right-to-Know Law provides individuals with the opportunity to inspect and obtain copies of public records, while also ensuring that records protected by law remain confidential.
Submitting a Right-to-Know Request
Requests for public records must be submitted in writing using the District’s Right-to-Know Request Form. To help ensure timely processing, requests should include:
- A clear description of the records being requested
- The preferred method of receiving the records (electronic or paper copies)
- Contact information for the requester
Requests may be submitted by mail, email, or in person to the District’s Right-to-Know Officer.

The District will respond to requests in accordance with the timelines and requirements established by the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. Certain records may be exempt from disclosure as permitted by state or federal law.
