District Goals

DISTRICT-WIDE ESTABLISHED GOALS

The Shikellamy School District has identified five district-wide areas of focus for the 2026–2027 school year. These goals provide a common direction for our schools and staff as we work to support student growth, achievement, and success.

Strengthening K–12 Tier 1 Instruction

We will continue strengthening our K–12 instructional model to ensure students receive high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in every classroom.

Our focus includes:

  • Consistent instructional practices across the district
  • Small-group instruction and differentiation
  • Using student data to inform instruction
  • Supporting teachers through professional learning and collaboration

Continuing K–8 MTSS Implementation

We will continue to strengthen the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) in grades K–8.

Our focus is on developing a clear and consistent process for:

  • Identifying student needs
  • Providing appropriate interventions and supports
  • Monitoring student progress
  • Using data to guide instructional decisions

Improving Student Attendance

Regular attendance is essential to student learning and school engagement. The district will continue to focus on improving K–12 student attendance and identifying ways to support students and families in overcoming barriers to regular attendance.

Increasing Student Growth and Achievement

We will continue to focus on student growth and achievement across all grade levels and content areas.

Through collaboration, data-informed instructional practices, and ongoing monitoring of student progress, we will work to identify areas of strength, address areas of need, and provide students with the support they need to succeed.

We will maintain high expectations for both our students and our staff.
